Costa Rica’s free zones are governed by a specialized law for the regulation of the development of business activities in special customs zones.

We have a population with a 94% literacy rate and an important percentage of our citizens are bilingual. In this way, the educational level of our country is similar to many developed countries, which places us in a privileged position in the region for investment in corporate services, outsourcing, manufacture of technology, pharmaceutical and medical products, among others.

Costa Rica abolished its army over seventy years ago and has concentrated resources that most countries use for defense on its educational systems, which has resulted in a very educated population and a highly qualified workforce that has a reasonable cost.
